Schüco DuraSwift completes the Schüco range for all fabricators that carry out glass bonding when fabricating Schüco PVC-U windows. The tested and compatible products are now all available from the same source for efficient fabrication using adhesive technology. The benefit lies in the efficient, ergonomic, stable and secure glazing of window units.
With the new Schüco DuraSwift silicone-based adhesives, insulating glass panes can be bonded to PVC-U vent frames in the workshop and on the construction site. The adhesives, which have successfully passed weather resistance tests under different climate conditions, provide secure and durable reinforcement of the glazed window vents. Fabricators needing to bond the glass to the window vent on the construction site can rely on the adhesive hardening within 24 hours. The range of adhesives is tested and certified for all Schüco PVC-U window profiles.
Schüco offers its partner companies adhesive vent profiles for all systems, allowing for automated window fabrication with integrated adhesive technology. Standard profiles for window fabrication can also be used alongside an optimised rebate strip for glass bonding.
Benefits of the bonding method
The bonding allows for a more even load transfer of the glass, ensuring maintenance-free bonding which will remain secure for decades. This forms the basis and the requirement, for example when burglar resistance from resistance class RC 2 or a larger glass area with slimmer profile face widths are requested. Depending on the vent dimensions, selected profile face widths and resistance class, either less or no steel at all is required for reinforcement. This makes the units lighter and installation easier.
