The long-awaited 60 mm thick panels are now available to our customers. It is time for a new standard in the garage door market.
The well-known and esteemed INFINITI garage doors already offer good thermal insulation. However, skyrocketing energy prices require us to go one step further. Therefore, our offering has expanded to include INFINITI Thermo doors, distinguished primarily by the 60 mm thick panel.
No room for compromise
We've been working hard on INFINITI Thermo for a long time and spared no effort because these are something that could represent a breakthrough for Eko-Okna on the garage door market – says Janusz Fałowski, Director of Garage Door Production. – Introducing a 60 mm thick panel, with a thermal transmittance of just 0.36 W/m²K, makes it possible to create genuinely warm doors, which we already point out in the name of the new product.
INFINITI Thermo is a response to the demand reported in the market. Although a slightly lower temperature is naturally acceptable in the garage, its excessive cooling will lead to energy loss for the entire house if it connects to the building. The colder it is in the garage, the higher the heating costs for the building.
Customers demanded that we act in this field, and Eko-Okna stood up to the challenge – emphasizes director Fałowski.
Insulation and airtightness
Thermo doors are warmer primarily due to the use of an effectively insulating panel – explains Przemysław Kuczera, Sectional Door Technologist/Designer. – We increased its thickness to 60 mm, which allows us to use more insulating material between the steel sheets. This is a completely positive change and does not negatively affect any aspect of the door's operation.
Even such a significant reduction of thermal transmittance wouldn't be effective without ensuring proper airtightness for the door. Two gaskets appear between the panels to protect their joints, and a double-layer gasket creating a thermal chamber between them appears around the perimeter.
I was very keen on introducing the thermal chamber in our gaskets – emphasizes Director Fałowski. – It's something that makes us stand out from the competition and is very effective in reducing heat loss.
Another important aspect is that the panel we use has a thickness of 60 mm along its entire height, including the joint – adds Mr Kuczera. – INFINITI Thermo is a product in which we minimize the occurrence of thermal bridges in the doors, gaining a competitive advantage.
Currently, INFINITI Thermo sectional doors are available in the F system (torsion springs at the front). Other INFINITI systems will be available for ordering soon.
