FINEO Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) are third-party verified documents EN 15804 + A2* and ISO 14025** compliant that provide objective data on its environmental impact throughout its entire life cycle.
Such third-party verified EPDs allow building industry professionals and project owners to compare the environmental footprint of construction products using environmental impact indicators, such as the Global Warming Potential (GWP).
Among the EPD-verified FINEO products, the 8 mm Low-Carbon configuration stands out for its significantly reduced environmental footprint. The Low-Carbon variant is based on Low-Carbon PLANIBEL glass range produced on high-efficiency furnaces with an holistic approach such as using a higher percentage of cullet (recycled glass), renewable electricity, and low-carbon soda ash.
As a result, the cradle-to-gate GWP value of the 8 mm Low-Carbon, covering the most impactful stages of the production – from raw materials extraction to the factory gate – is exceptionally low. The 8 mm Low-Carbon FINEO achieves only 18,9 kg CO2 eq./m², making it one of the most insulating glass / glazing unit with the lowest EPD value on the market, outperforming many conventional double and triple glazing units.
