Weather King Windows and Doors to Close

Weather King Windows and Doors, a 70-year old manufacturing company in Farmington, Michigan, revealed plans to close its doors for good in the next several weeks, and management says COVID-19 definitely factored into the company’s decision.

Matthew Ball, general manager, confirmed the news to [DWM] on Monday May 18. The company had been closed for two months, as the state of Michigan had been closed per stay-at-home orders from the Governor, and window manufacturing was not deemed an essential business.

As of today we have stopped accepting new orders. Our customers have all been notified as well. Michigan was shut down for two months which cost me customers in Ohio and Indiana – says Ball. – I don’t believe the market will come back through summer and fall for us to make it through the end of the year. After much debate we decided we needed to shut down. It had a few rough years recently, the COVID shutdown was the final nail in the coffin.
